As a routine check, I usually check what all Google or other search results take the use to my blog. And to my surprise, I found a lot of queries in the Google search with text “How to use Visual Studio 2005” with framework 3.5.
The simple answer to this is a big NO. Visual Studio 2005 was designed to be compatible with only .Net 2.0 framework and later on when WPF and WCF came, you could do that too by installing .net framework 3.0 on your machine.
Now, Microsoft has come up with this is feature of Multi Target Support in Visual Studio 2008 with which you can build application targeting frameworks from 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 with Visual Studio 2008.
